SpaceX to fly Dec 19
By Chris Forrester
December 11, 2015

Elon Musk-backed rocket launch company SpaceX is to fly again on (or around) December 19th. A static ground test of its engine systems is scheduled for December 16th and Musk, in a Tweet, said the full launch should take place “about 3 days later”.

The launch is due to carry 11 mid-sized and long-delayed Orbcomm satellites. However, also waiting patiently in line is SES-9 which has been ready for launch since earlier this year. SES-9 is slated to go to 108.2 degrees East. However, the craft is an all-electric satellite which will take about six months to get into position.

SpaceX suffered a launch failure in June which placed all other launches on hold.

Other satellites also long-overdue for launch on SpaceX include ABS-2A/Thaicom-8 and Amos-6.
